Water cousins: Fluorine and Fluoride
[ send me this report ]
( 5 pp.) One of the "stories" that was associated
with the Cold War, long ago and far away, was that
those sneaky Communists were going to put fluoride
in the water and destroy us all. I thought the
issue had collapsed with the Berlin wall, but the
beat goes on -this time we are also being told of
the seventeenth element in the earth's crust
fluorine. This discussion will look at some of
the positives and negatives of those
"fluoro-cousins." Bibliography lists 2 sources.

The collective work of these and many others have brought us to a point where we can begin to gain an understanding of how much we still do not know, while benefiting society in the meantime.
